Anna Mae (Schmiling) Alexander

August 4, 1923 — September 30, 2017

Anna Mae (Ann) Alexander , 94, of Algoma passed away on Saturday, September 30, 2017 surrounded by family. She was born on August 4, 1923 to the late Herman and Anna (Lawrenz) Schmiling. She married Clarence Alexander on October 9, 1945 at St. Willebrads Catholic Church in Green Bay. Together they worked on the family farm.

Ann loved spending time with her family, playing cards, playing flute, being a member of the community band, embroidery, and cooking for everyone. Ann was a member of St. Mary's Parish, Algoma.

Ann is survived by her children, Robert Alexander, Rifle, CO, Joe (Gail Karvonen) Alexander, Portland, OR, Joan (Greg) Chaudoir, Sturgeon Bay, Chris (Peter Martin) Alexander, Saratoga Springs, NY, Helen (Matt Rickaby) Alexander, Algoma; grandchildren, Scott, Jerimy, Tessa, Claire, Michael, Cherie, Katrina, Justin, Michelle, Elizabeth, Jennifer, Travis, Julie, and Mauriah; great-grandchildren, Brooke, Will, Nick, Zack, Ian, Aria, Hazel, Brie, Evin, Tayah, Kylie, and Anissa; in-laws, Mary Ann (Ken) Feld and Marion Schmeling. Ann is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her son James, and eight siblings.

Friends may call at the Holy Name of Mary Church in Maplewood from 9:30-10:30 on Saturday, October 21, 2017. A Eulogy by the family will take place at 10:30 am, Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11 am with Fr. Carl Schmitt officiating.
