Andrew Engebose, 87, Luxemburg, passed away on Friday, June 23, 2023, at Bellin Hospital in Green Bay. Andrew was born on February 16, 1936, to the late Eli and Laura (LaCroix) Engebose in Duvall. He attended Duvall Graded School and graduated from Luxemburg High School in the class of 1954. He married Marie Grundhoeffer on June 13, 1959, at St. Peter Catholic Church – Lincoln. Andrew grew up on the family farm and later purchased and ran the dairy farm with Marie for 41 years. They, along with their daughters, worked together caring for the land and 40 head of cows, some pigs and chickens. The farm was a source of many life lessons while providing a wonderful childhood for his daughters. Whether it was feeding hay to the cows or teaching the girls how to drive a tractor or balancing the checkbook with Marie at the kitchen table, Andrew did his work with great love and humility. He will be remembered for his quick smile and wonderful sense of humor. He could often be heard whistling while he worked with polka music playing throughout the barn. Many times he and Marie would dance together in the barn alley during milking. After retiring from farming, he made many wood lawn ornaments. Andrew enjoyed going to senior sites to play cards--- especially cuyoo ---while gathering with his many friends. He loved his cats and dogs through the years, loved spending time with the grandkids and his family and working with his hands. Andrew was a full time farmer, a part time veterinarian and mechanic. He could fix many things and was the original “Handy Andy.” And we all know that before there was Google, there was Dad.
Andrew is survived by his wife of 64 years, Marie; two children, Cynthia (Cathy Morearty) Engebose of Milwaukee, Deborah (Peter) Krump of St Cloud, Minnesota; two grandchildren, Andrew and Jacob Krump; sister, Rose Marie Conard; and sister-in-law, Clara Engebose; also survived by two sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Terri (Mike) Vandervest , Ann (Ray Jr.) Bauer ; and nieces and nephews. “Once in a lifetime you find someone special. Your lives intermingle and somehow you know this is the beginning of all you have longed for. A love you can build on, a love that will grow. Once in a lifetime to those who are lucky a miracle happens and dreams all come true. I know it can happen – It happened to me! For I’ve found that “once in a lifetime” with you.” - Love Marie
