Alice M. Glish, age 88, of Kewaunee died on Saturday, May 7, 2022. She was born on July 17, 1933 to the late W. Edwin and Mary (Jorgensen) Brusky.
She married Joseph J. Glish on October 19, 1949 and he preceded her in death on November 3, 1998.
In addition to keeping a home for joe and her eight children, she worked for Olsonite, Algoma WI for twenty four years until retiring. Alice and Joe enjoyed travelling to many countries throughout the world, and dancing at Kubsch's ballroom. When the children were younger she had a huge garden and enjoyed canning the vegetables of that garden. Hundreds of quarts of tomato juice and other veggies were canned to be part of the family meals throughout the following year. An excellent cook and baker, no family gathering was complete without a dessert made by her. Her deviled eggs were always looked forward to, and were just enjoyed last Christmas. In her later years, Alice enjoyed crossword and word search puzzles.
Survivors include three sons and two daughters-in-law: Mark and Sherri Glish, Janesville; Steven and Kim Glish, Port St. Lucie, FL; Gregg Glish, Las Vegas, NV; three daughters and three sons-in-law: Monica and Mike Knauer, Acton, Ontario, Canada; Debra and Marcus Teubert, Wild Rose, WI; Brenda and Todd Toepper, Milton, WI; a very special granddaughter: Tanya Glish, Two Rivers; ten grandchildren; many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law: William (Bill) and Karen Brusky, Kewaunee; a sister: Marie Tess, Mishicot and her very special cat, Abby.
She was preceded in death by two sons and an infant son: Wayne Glish, Jeffrey Glish; and Paul Glish. Mother-in-law and father-in-law: Joseph F. and Katherine Glyzewski.
Friends may call after 5:00 p.m. Friday, May 13 at Buchanan Funeral Home, Kewaunee with a parish Wake Service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation continues after 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Hedwig Church, East Krok until the time of services. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. by Fr. Dennis Drury assisted by Christal Wavrunek. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
Mom was a force to be reckoned with at times. Her fierce will and determination allowed her to live her way even though she had mobility problems in her later years. Guide us now Mom, your children and grandchildren, to live with fierce determination as you did.
