Thomas Leon Copet, 71 passed away November 1, 2011 at the Golden Living Center in Sturgeon Bay, WI. Tom was born February 19, 1940 in the Town of Riplinger, WI to Leon and Mae Copet. Tom and his late wife Jayne were longtime residents of Door County where they raised 5 children. Tom was an avid fisherman, hunter, and wildlife carver. His carvings were often displayed at the Miller Art Museum. Tom was also a sponsor of Ducks Unlimited and he and his family were members of the Cherryland Horseman Horse Club for numerous years. He also enjoyed gardening and had a love for nature.
He is survived by his children Todd Copet of Sturgeon Bay, Gina (John) Rice of Wautoma, David (Deanna) Copet of Algoma, Nicole Schmidt of Redgranite, Ryan (Stephanie) Copet of Luxemburg and 14 grandchildren. Also survived is his mother Mae (Bauer) Copet of Pearson, WI, his brother Gerald (Rosemary) Copet of West Bend and one nephew, Jack (Alana) Copet of West Allis.
Tom is preceded in death by his loving wife Jayne of Fond Du Lac and father Leon "Bud" Copet of Pearson.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
