Russel A. Naze, 46, of Algoma, passed away after a three year battle with leukemia, on Monday January 12, 2015. He was born April 14, 1968 in Algoma to Wayne and Deanna (Walter) Naze. Russ worked construction, focusing on logging and cement work. In his spare time he enjoyed toy tractor collecting, fishing, gardening, and planting pumpkins. He enjoyed his time coaching soccer with Ron McClure and his time working on the farm with Shawn Prodell.
He is survived by his fiancAC. Cathei Mincheski; his children Julia, Mason, and Veronica, at home; step-children Damon (Jade) Harris and their child Emery, Appleton, Darcy (Eddie) Cisneros and their children Juan and Jayce, Green Bay, Brittany Drennen, Nashville; parents Wayne and Deanna Naze; sibilings Mark (Elizabeth Timmins) Naze, Sue (Dan) Hafeman, Jeremy (Jill) Naze, Chris (LuAnn) Naze, Kelly (Jamie) Dachelet. Russ is also survived by nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles; his godson Nathan Naze; godfather Jim Naze; and godmother Cyndi Berg. He is further survived by Jack (Connie) Harris; Carol Harris; and special friends Shawn (Jenny) Prodell, and Ron (Kim) McClure. He was preceded in death by grandparents, aunts, and uncles.
A visitation will be held on Thursday January 15, 2015 at Wiesner and Massart Funeral Home, Algoma from 4 to 8 p.m. Prayer service will take place at 6 p.m. with Deacon Bob Miller. Visitation will continue on Friday morning at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Casco from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:30 a.m. at church, with Fr. Milton Suess officiating. Burial will follow at the Evergreen Cemetery, Algoma. Online condolences may be shared here .
