Lowell R. Bowersox, 87, of Algoma passed away on Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at home. He was born on November 7, 1926 in Illinois to the late Lester and Margaret Mae (O'Brien) Bowersox. He proudly served his country during World War II in the United States Coastguard. On September 11, 1954 he married Mary Kodell. He worked as a Civil Engineer for the State of Illinois Highway Dept. Lowell enjoyed fishing and spending time outdoors.
He is survived by his wife Mary; daughter Deanna (Robert) Stauff, West Bend WI; Son James (Julia) Bowersox, Australia and Algoma WI; grandchildren Andrew and William Stauff; great-grandchildren Jaden and Tristan Stauff; and one sister Viola Pook. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A private memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 24, 2014 at 2 p.m. at the family home with Pastor Howard Batt officiating. Full military rites will follow. Wiesner & Massart Funeral Home of Algoma is assisting the family. Online condolence messages may be sahred here .
