Leonel "Lee" J. Charles, 60, of Casco, passed away Friday, December 28, 2012 at Aurora BayCare Medical Center with his family at his side after a year long battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease). He was born on July 21, 1952 to the late Joseph & Gertrude (Monfils) Charles. On June 17, 1972 he married Fran Bouche at St. Louis Parish in Dyckesville. He worked at Van's Lumber & Custom Builders Inc. for over 25 years. Prior to that at Bay Shipbuilding Company. He was also in the U.S. Army Reserves. Lee had a smile and sense of humor that will be missed by all that knew him.

Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Fran (Bouche) Charles, son, Billy (Karen) Charles, grandchildren, Rebecca and Ryan, daughter, Tammy (Mark) Lardinois, grandchildren, Kayla, Alyssa with expectant first great grandchild, Erika, and Kristen, daughter, Patti (Scott) Szydel, grandchildren, Alison and expectant grandchild, daughter, Bobbi Jo (Adam) Massey, grandchildren, Austin and Brady, son, Lee "Beasty" (Wendy) Charles, grandchildren, Brandon, Jenna, and Lindsay. Three brothers, Marvin (Janice) Charles, Myron (Elaine) Charles, Donald (Jill) Charles and three sisters, Karen (Ervin) Kazik, Judy (Robert) Gallagher, Diane (Dennis) Opicka. Six brothers-in-law, Chris (Marge) Bouche, Dan (Cheryl) Bouche, Hal (Laurie) Bouche, Ian (Jackie) Bouche, Kevin (Stacy) Bouche, Lance (Pamm) Bouche and two sisters-in-law, Ellen (Larry) LaCrosse and Ginger (special friend Gayle) Piontek and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his parents, sister, Joyce Charles, granddaughter, Erin Charles (daughter of Billy and Karen Charles), father-in-law and mother-in-law, Andrew and Beverly, brother-in-law, Jay Bouche.

Friends may call on Wednesday, January 2nd, from 3 to 8 pm at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Lincoln. Wake Service 7:30 pm Wednesday at church. Visitation will continue Thursday at church from 9 to 11 am. Mass of Christian Burial 11 am Thursday at St. Peter's Catholic Church with Fr. Dennis Drury and Deacon Paul Zenefski officiating. Burial in the parish cemetery.

Wiesner-Massart Funeral Homes are handling arrangements.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Quidzinski and the staff at Aurora Medical Center, Dr. Barkhaus and the ALS Association, the Brussels and Casco Lions Club, Luxemburg Rescue, Casco First Responders, ICU staff at Aurora BayCare Medical Center for the compassionate care they provided.
