Laura Guilette, 89, Casco, passed away Friday May 25, 2012 at St. Vincent Hospital. She was born on October 8, 1922 in the Town of Union to the late Frank and Matilda (Euclide) Rass. She married Walter Guilette on October 14, 1941 at St. Mary of the Snow Catholic Church, Namur. He preceded her in death on July 1, 1984.
Laura enjoyed her role as mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed playing cards with her friends at Casco Housing. Laura worked at the Methodist Church in Algoma, organizing meals and activities. Of all her jobs, Laura enjoyed waitressing at the Club Chalet.
She is survived by 2 sons, Russel (Carla) Guilette, Casco and Mark (Karen), Casco; grandchildren, Jeff (Wendy), Rick (Linette) and Kevin (Jan) Guilette, Tina (Dan) Martin, Chad and Ryan (Megan) Guilette; great grandchildren, Jamie (fiance Robin), Kayla, Mikenzie, Amy, Emily, Nathaniel, Desirae, Savannah, Aly, Rebecca, Kyle, Taylor Guilette; a brother, Harold Rass; a sister, Madeline Jeanquart. She was preceded in death by sisters, Rose (Harry) Vandertie, Esther (Wilfred) Massart, Lena (Elmer) Renier, Lucy (Charles) Matthus; a brother, Clarence (Evelyn) Rass.
Friends may call from 4 to 8pm Monday May 28th at Wiesner-Massart Funeral Home, Casco. Visitation will continue Tuesday morning from 10 to 11am at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Algoma. Wake Service 6:30pm Monday at the funeral home with Kathy Zemen, Pastoral Minister. Mass of Christian Burial 11am Tuesday with Fr. Bill Swichtenberg officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery, Algoma.
