Harris J. Dhuey

Harris J. Dhuey, 87, passed away on May 25, 2013 at Oak Creek Assisted Living, Luxemburg. He was born on October 2, 1925 to the late Zepherence and Josephine (Joniaux) Dhuey. On October 26, 1943 he married Emily Jeanquart at St. Mary's Parish in Namur. Together they operated a small dairy farm and for other 40 years he was employed at Algoma Hardwoods. He shared his love of music with the St. Peter's Parish Senior Choir, the Catholic Order of Forester's Men's Choir, the Golden Tones, and the Czech's visiting nursing homes, libraries, etc. His lifetime highlights were the six European trips enabling him to locate his Belgian relatives, share the Walloon language/stories, and delight in their return visits to Wisconsin.

He is survived by his wife Emily, three daughters Linda (Ron) Opicka, Katie (Chuck) Schmitt, and Ann (Tom) Ouradnik; six grandchildren Andrew (Elise) Opicka, Austin (Laura) Schmitt, Ross (Kala) Schmitt, Ashley Schmitt, Emily (John) Lawler, Zach (Katie) Ouradnik; great-grandchildren Kaden, Sadie, Aiden, Ava, Ty, Bentley, and Vita; two sisters Armene (Robert) Delfosse, Mary Ann Conard; three sisters-in-law Blanche Jeanquart, Madeline Jeanquart, Doris (Norbert) Kinnard, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Harris is preceded in death by his parents and infant sister Ann; brothers-in-law Francis Conard, George Jeanquart, and Roy Jeanquart; and two sisters-in- law Celine Cumber and Marie Jadin.

Friends may call at Wiesner & Massart Funeral Home, Casco, on Monday May 27, 2013 from 4 to 8 P.M. with prayer service at 6 P.M. Visitation will continue on Tuesday May 28, 2013 from 9:30 to 11 A.M. at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Lincoln. Mass of Christian burial will take place at 11 A.M. with Fr. Dennis Drury, and Deacon Paul Zenefski officiating. Burial to follow in parish cemetery. Online condolences may be shared here .
