David C. Thiry, 70, of Casco passed away at home surrounded by his family on Friday July 11, 2014 after a short illness. He was born on May 11, 1944 in the Town of Red River to the late Henry and Stella (Prokash) Thiry. David proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He then returned home and hauled milk for H. Thiry and Sons from 1965 to 1971. He was also a storekeeper in his family business.
David is survived by one sister Sandra (Harold) DeMoulin, New Franken; four brothers Julius (Bonnie) Thiry, Casco; Dale (Rachel) Thiry, Casco; Dennis (Dorothy) Thiry, Luxemburg; and Michael Thiry, Luxemburg; one uncle Ira (Dorothy) Thiry, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday July 14, 2014 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Wiesner & Massart Funeral Home, Casco. The Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue on Tuesday morning at St. Peter Catholic Church, Lincoln, from 9:30 to 10:45. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Steve Vanden Boogard and Deacon Paul Zenefski officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with full military rites.
