David Hudson, 63, Algoma, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at Aurora BayCare, Green Bay. He was born January 27, 1948 in Sturgeon Bay to the late George and Carol (Schneider) Hudson.
Dave graduated from Algoma High School in 1966. On September 13, 1969, at St. Marys Church, he married his high school sweetheart, Bonnie (Granius). Dave and Bonnie were married for 42 years. Dave graduated and earned his degree in Mortuary Science in Milwaukee, becoming a licensed Funeral Director. He came back to Algoma and began working for Wiesner-Massart in 1972 and continued there until the present time, 39 years. Dave was also presently the Kewaunee County Coroner. A position he had held for the past 14 years.
Dave was a member of St. Pauls Lutheran Church, Algoma Fire and Rescue Team (for many years), past Algoma City Council Member and owner of Hudson's Bar and Restaurant.
Dave enjoyed traveling, seeing many different countries throughout the world. He also enjoyed golf, softball, basketball, flowers, his many clocks, spending time with his grandchildren and keeping Angie and Elliott "in line" as they were growing up.
Dave received 2 "Gifts of Life" (kidney transplants), the first over 20 years ago. A special thank you to the Kathy Klegin family for this "Gift of Life". Although Dave had to have some extended hospital stays over the years, he handled it with courage and without complaint.
David is survived by his wife of 42 years, Bonnie; 2 children, Angela Hudson, Algoma, Dr. Elliott (Dr. Amanda) Hudson, Austin, Texas; 5 grandchildren, Chloe, Addison, Alice, George and Anna Rose; 1 brother, Dan (Carla) Hudson; sister-in-law, Brenda Rush; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ron and Jane Granius; sister-in-law, Becky (David) Kambach; mother-in-law, Evelyn Granius Lindley; son-in-law, Pat Bair; nieces and nephews; and his godchilren, Chelsea Hudson, Shelly DeMeuse and Lexi Kinnard. Dave was preceded in death by his parents, George and Carol; a brother-in-law, Lee Rush; father-in-law, Melvin Granius.
Visitation for Dave will be on Sunday, January 8, 2012 at St. Pauls Lutheran Church, Algoma from 12:30 to 4pm with a Funeral Service starting at 4pm, Pastor Tom Moldenhauer officiating. Burial at St. Pauls Cemetery.

Dave will be greatly missed by Bonnie, Angie, Elliot and Amanda, grandkids, family, friends, "The Boys" (Jim and Tim) and Rose. Thank You Dave, for all you have done for all of us and all you have meant to all of us these many years!
